In the run-up to the 2024 UEC Road European Championships, the ‘Helden van de Koers’ (Heroes of the Race) talk show will be touring through Limburg in August. Over the course of four shows, former sports journalist Eric Dupain and his regular panel look forward to the European Cycling Championships that are taking place in Limburg between 11 and 15 September. During the last show, the regular racing heroes will be joined by Fleur Moors and Tom Dumoulin. Attending the shows is free, but registration is mandatory. You can do so at the bottom of this page.
About 'Helden van de Koers'
The cycling-themed talk show ‘Helden van de Koers’ aims to whet the appetites of Limburg residents for the European Cycling Championships that will take place from Wednesday 11 through Sunday 15 September between Heusden-Zolder and Hasselt. Organiser Eric Dupain is doing so in four shows. Dupain hosted his first talk show entitled ‘Helden van de Koers’ in 2018. Since then, the show has continued to take place every year in Borgloon. On the occasion of the 2024 UEC Road European Championships, this year’s talk show consists of four parts. Cycling fans can attend the shows free of charge and will be treated to a mix of conversations, music and images. The racing heroes who are present look back on the cycling season, comment on the course of the European Cycling Championships and shine the spotlight on the favourites in the various disciplines.
Locations and guests
José De Cauwer will play the role of team captain during the four shows. In each case, the cycling expert is supported by super domestique Jolien D’hoore. The panel will be joined by Fleur Moors and Tom Dumoulin during the last show. Find out below the locations where you can attend the talk show and who will be the guests:
- Tuesday 20/8: Zaal De Zille in Ham, the home port of Jasper Philipsen
- Wednesday 21/8: Hotel Malpertuus & Melograno in Riemst
- Thursday 22/8: Sporthal Damburg in Bocholt
- Wednesday 28/8: Vierkantshoeve Manshoven in Borgloon with Tomas Van Den Spiegel, Tom Dumoulin and Fleur Moors

The shows on 20, 21 and 22 August start at 20:15 and end around 21:45. The final show in Borgloon will start at 20:00 and end around 22:15.

Attention, seats are limited. This is the capacity per show:
- Tuesday 20/8, Zaal De Zille in Ham: max. 300 spectators
- Wednesday 21/8, Hotel Malpertuus & Melograno in Riemst: max. 400 spectators in dry weather, 200 in rainy weather
- Thursday 22/8, Sporthal Damburg in Bocholt: this show is sold out.
- Wednesday 28/8, Vierkantshoeve Manshoven in Borgloon: this show is sold out.
In case of bad weather, we will be forced to move the show in Riemst indoors. As a result, the capacity will be limited. Only the first 200 registered spectators will be able to attend the event in that case. If you are not among the first 200 registered for the show, you will not be able to join in rainy weather. If this is the case, we will inform you personally via email. Of course, we hope that the sun will be shining so that everyone can enjoy a cozy cycling evening!
