Get to know the European Cycling Championships course during Hasselt Fietst on Sunday 19 May

The countdown to the European Cycling Championships has officially begun! From 11 until 15 September, Hasselt is going to be the finish for all the championships. Come to the provincial capital of Limburg on Sunday 19 May and, during Hasselt Fietst, warm your pedals one more time on the day before the Ronde van Limburg.

The Whitsun weekend is going to be a real cycling weekend in Hasselt. On Sunday 19 May, discover the most beautiful spots in and around the provincial capital during Hasselt Fietst. On Monday 20 May, it is then the turn of the professionals to explore the European Championship course during the Ronde van Limburg. A real dress rehearsal so to speak!

The varied programme of Hasselt Fietst includes activities for all ages. Hop on your bike for the 13 km family bike ride, perfect for recreational cyclists and for families with children aged 5 to 12. For those looking for more of a challenge, there is the 35 km bike ride on which you explore a part of the European Cycling Championships course. Along the way, you can enjoy refreshments. Both rides depart from Kolonel Dusartplein and starting is possible between 10:00 and 15:00. The first 200 families at the feed zone will receive a fun tote bag and the children will also be rewarded with an EC gadget. Register in advance? You can do so here.

The little ones (2 to 4.5 years) can take part in the European Balance Bike Championship between 10:00 and 15:00. No balance bike at home? Not to worry. You can borrow one on the spot. Register here.

Preschoolers who are quite ready to cycle without side wheels can participate in the workshop "Kijk! Ik fiets". This 1.5-hour session is supervised by experienced monitors and costs 5 euros per child. Furthermore, the youngest adventurers can enjoy themselves on a challenging kid's course with pumptracks, slopes, cobblestones and bends. Children aged between 5 and 14 can take part using their own bike and helmet or they can borrow a bike on site.

Fancy testing your steering skills on an agility course? You can do so with your own (electric) bike, or take the test using one of the e-bikes from OKRA Sport Limburg. Throughout the day, there are also fringe events providing even more fun and entertainment. Come and join us for this fun-filled day of cycling experience in Hasselt!
