Paula Ostiz Taco crowned as European time trial champion after a true thriller

Spain's Paula Ostiz Taco is the new European Junior Women's time trial champion. She triumphed ahead of the Netherlands' Fee Knaven and Slovakian Viktoria Chladonova.

A beautiful sunny morning welcomed the Junior Women to the brand new Sport Vlaanderen Heusden-Zolder Velodrome Limburg for the start of the 2024 UEC Road European Championships. It was Spain's Paula Ostiz Taco who set the first benchmark time at the finish on Koning Boudewijnlaan in Hasselt. She clocked a time of 17'53", a time that remained at the top of the leaderboard until the end of the race. Rider after rider tried but failed to better Ostiz Taco's time, including Fee Knaven. After a true thriller, the Dutch ultimately finished 1.37 seconds behind Paula Ostiz Taco, who claimed the title of new European time trial champion. Slovakian Viktoria Chladonova took third spot on the podium.
