Michiel Mouris is the fastest Junior against the clock

The Junior Men began their European time trial championship in Heusden-Zolder. After a time trial of 31.2km, it was Michiel Mouris who clocked the fastest time at the finish in Hasselt. The Belgian Jasper Schoofs came second and the German Paul Fietzke took third spot on the podium.

At 10:23, the first rider rolled off the starting podium at the brand-new Sport Vlaanderen Heusden-Zolder Velodrome Limburg. The young Belgian Matisse Van Kerckhove set the first benchmark with a time of 37'45". Not long after, Jasper Schoofs shaved half a minute off this time and took over his compatriot's place on the hot seat. The Belgian tête-à-tête was short-lived as Dutchman Michiel Mouris posted a new best time of 37'08". The time set by Mouris was never threatened, securing him the title of European time trial champion ahead of Jasper Schoofs and Paul Fietzke.
